| Virat Kohli Steps Down From Test Captaincy After Rift With BCCI |
Under a day in the wake of losing the Test series to South Africa 2-1 with a seven-wicket misfortune in Cape Town, Virat Kohli has ventured down as skipper of India's Test group with prompt impact.
Taking to Twitter, Kohli declared that he will venture down from the job in the wake of filling in as commander since August 2015, after previous partner Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the time reported his retirement from all organizations of worldwide cricket.
Kohli said, "It's been 7 years of difficult work, work, and persistent determination consistently to take the group in the correct course. He additionally offered his thanks to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for offering him the chance to play for so long. Expressing gratitude toward his kindred colleagues, he added,
You guys have made this journey so memorable and beautiful. To Ravi Bhai and the support group who were the engine behind this vehicle that moved us upwards in Test Cricket consistently, you all have played a massive role in bringing this vision to life. Lastly, a big thank you to MS Dhoni who believed in me as a captain and found me to be an able individual who could take Indian Cricket forward.
The BCCI later released a quick statement on Twitter lauding Kohli for his contribution.
With 40 triumphs in 68 Tests, Kohli leaves as India's best captain in the arrangement. He additionally assumed a key part in his group's memorable Test series triumph in Australia, which raised them to the highest point of the ICC Test rankings.
